The Philippines, officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, is an archipelagic nation in Southeast Asia, situated in the western Pacific Ocean. Comprising 7,641 islands, the country spans a total area of 300,000 square kilometers and is divided into three main geographical regions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The Philippines is bordered by the South China Sea to the west, the Philippine Sea to the east, and the Celebes Sea to the south.
